Upside Down

A 50-word story

“As you wash the dishes, imagine washing away the past,” my therapist told me once.

I’d laughed then, but now I can relate. Twenty years of an abusive marriage went down the drain as the murky black tea disappeared. Relief hit me. A clean teacup was now drying upside down.
